It’s that time of year where summer is winding down, kids are heading back to school, and pumpkin recipes are starting to take over the social media world. It’s nearly FALL! If any of you have older kids heading into college, you might be doing some back to school shopping that entails more than just school clothes and a new backpack. I can tell you from experience: shopping for a college student is STRESSFUL.
My first time college shopping experience went about like this:
- Make a list of things I need.
- Head to store #1.
- Get overwhelmed because I’ve never had to buy towels before and there are 239 color options to choose from.
- Cry.
- Head to store #2.
- Realize that I like a certain item at Store #1 better than the one at Store #2.
- Drive back to Store #1 and purchase said item.
- Wonder what a duvet insert is.
- Stress over finding the perfect cover for the duvet insert that will match everything else I already bought.
- Order duvet cover online.
- Return sheets to store #1 because they don’t match the duvet cover I just ordered.
- Get overwhelmed.
- Cry.
- Print all my favorite pictures to put on my walls in my dorm (mostly pictures of my dog).
- Cry because I realize I’m going to miss my dog.
- Make my mom do the rest of my shopping for me.
Yeah, it was kind of a ridiculously emotional experience. Bless my sweet mother’s heart for putting up with me. It TOTALLY didn’t have to be that way, though… Because I was trying to compare all my options at different stores and constantly running back and forth, I made it sooo much more exhausting than necessary!!
