Several months ago I saw a super cute laundry sign that I added to my DIY and Crafts to make Pinterest Board. It was from cute Angie of The Burton Avenue. I knew I wanted to do one similar so I kept a mental note of it.
Fast forward a few months and I was contacted by DecoArt to review some of their new Glass Paints. I immediately thought of Angie’s sign and knew that these paints would be perfect to test out on this project.
I decided to make a Keep the Change Laundry Sign. Not sure about you but I’m constantly pulling change from the hubby’s pockets. He’s gotten pretty good at emptying his pockets before he puts his pants in the dirty laundry, but even then I manage to find a few bucks in change each month. ๐
SUPPLIES:
– Wood (I used an old cabinet drawer front)
– Paint
– DecoArt Gloss Enamel {found at Michael’s near the glass vases!}
– Jar
– Brush
– Wire
– Drill
– Vinyl
– Wire
DIRECTIONS:
1. Gather your supplies. Begin by painting your jar. Let dry for a few days.
2. Paint your piece of wood and let dry.
3. Cut vinyl for the space you have on your board. Mine was about 3.5 inches by 4 inches. Add vinyl to board. Spray polyurethane and let dry.
4. Wrap wire around jar. Drill holes in your wood where you want the wires to go in. We used needle nose pliers to pull the wires through the back and just twisted them in back.
5. Add frame teeth to back so you can hang it.
Now you have a super cute sign that helps you collect the change from the laundry!
And what’s best is Finder’s Keepers – I totally keep the change and use the extra $$ for our family vacations. Don’t know how it happens, we usually get almost $100 in change ever year!! SCORE!!

I LOVE this! What a great and simple idea. I can’t wait to make one of these for me, and my mom. Who am I kidding. Everyone could use one of these!
I always find change in my hubby’s pockets too! I say Finders Keepers:-) This cute jar would be the perfect place to collect all that loose change!!! I love that you can paint the jars too!!!
that’s super cute! my hubby doesn’t ever even have cash on him, so this is a non issue at our home!
that is so cute, I just pocket the change is it the other stuff I find that I need a jar for!
Loved that. Wonderful idea.
I love this! I’ve got to make one, it would really free up some space on the top of my dryer! simply gorgeous!
OK- I’m missing something. How do the letters for “Keep the Change” get on there??? Both my husband and I have read and re-read this and we are missing something here…PLease advise, thanks! ๐
